125,000 SQ M OF BREEAM EXCELLENT STANDARD BUSINESS SPACE PROVIDING A HOME FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF UK INDUSTRY ON A DEDICATED 25 HECTARE DEVELOPMENT WITH EXCEPTIONAL LINKS TO LONDON AND THE SOUTH EAST
Start of road improvements along Renwick Road (Barking) and Choats Road (Barking & Dagenham) for the East London Transit (ELT)
- This is funded by Mayor of London and Transport for London (TfL) to support the regeneration of the London Thames Gateway area
- The first phase of the ELT service is scheduled to commence in early 2010 involving high quality environmentally friendly double-deck vehicles
- There will be new bus shelters (well-lit areas with real-time service information) and improved footways being installed as part of the infrastructure improvements
- Construction work will take place between May and October 2009. The ELT bus depot and associated diversion of utilities at the top of Chequers Lane has already begun!
- The contractor is Skanska Infrastructure Services Limited (‘Skanska’)
Cyclamax’s development programme
- Waste management firm Cyclamax, will build its fourth – and flagship facility – on a 3.5ha site at the London SIP, Dagenham Dock. The 100,000 tonne capacity gasification plant will produce up to 15 mega watts of energy a year, providing enough power for up to 20,000 homes. It will divert commercial waste that would otherwise have gone to landfill, including non-recyclable waste from offices, restaurants and retailers
- Cyclamax’s planning application is anticipated this summer
Property transactions at Dagenham Dock
- The LTGDC has acquired the 8.2 acre Blue Triangle Site (aka ‘Blue Triangle Park’) in Choats Road. This will aid the configuration and planning of the London SIP, Dagenham Dock and improve presentation at its entrance
- The LTGDC has also acquired a small plot of land in Hindmans Way from National Grid that was surplus to their requirements and will help the LTGDC/LDA to deliver infrastructure improvements to the second phase of the London SIP, Dagenham Dock
Forthcoming Events involving the London SIP at Dagenham Dock
- The LTGDC will be sharing a stand with Gateway to London (GtL) at the Futuresource 2009 conference and exhibition taking place between 9 -11 June 2009
- Representatives from the development team within LTGDC working on the London SIP, Dagenham Dock will be manning the stand at Futuresource
- Futuresource (pronounced Future Resource) is a joint event from the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and the Environmental Services Association (ESA)
